FINAL TASK CALL (COMPUTER ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING

 A.BACKGROUND
In this final task, I take vocabulary software, The name of software that I chose is called “Longman advanced American dictionary”. As we know that for improve our english we have to know more about a lot of vocabularies.  This software is easy to get,easy to accesswith interesting feature, and clear explanation of words .This software is a dictionary software which is completed by several options and additions. Students can easily find words, categories, thesaurus, example of sentence,and the sound of words to improve listening and pronunciation. The content of this software is so suitable for students in university and also suitable for improving your TOEFL, SAT and TOEIC score

2  B.DESCRIPTION OF THE SOFTWARE

       This software is a software which is made in offline dictionary software. This software also focuses on displaying various vocabularies and it’s thesaurus.

1. when we open the software,It is the first display of this software

2. Then click to "longman advanced american dictionary" button, and it is the Dictionary. if you want to find out explanation of another vocabularies just type it down in the searcher box in the corner of the software, and click "go" button.

3. "Personal assesment" button. this software is completed by exercises and grammar test,so it is capable of assisting students to improve the English capability.

4. The next feature " My notepad". in this feature you can evaluate your own capability by giving signs in progress chart ^_^

5. The last feature is "Teacher's Corner" this is the feature for teacher or lecturers, there are many printable worksheet with the answers, it's very useful in learning process. the teacher can print the worksheets out and use it as media in teaching and learning.

C. THE STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

The strenghts of this software are :

• easy to install
• uses a little storage of memory
• complete with various contents
• not only for vocabulary, but also for grammar and pronunciation
• it is displayed with attractive feature

The weaknesses of this software

• it is only for upper intermediate
• it doesn't provide any direct translation

D. THE PROCESS OF USING THE SOFTWARE FOR LEARNING AND TEACHING ACTIVITIES.

There is special features, It called "Teacher's Corner". this is the feature for teacher or lecturers, there are many printable worksheet with the answers, it's very useful in learning process. the teacher can print the qiz and worksheets out and use it as media in teaching and learning.

E. CONCLUSION AND RECCOMEDANTION

Conclusion : Longman advanced dictionary is a dictionary software that is built to ease students in improving ability in English. This software is a software which is made in offline dictionary software. This software also focuses on displaying various vocabularies and it’s thesaurus.and good for using as media in teaching and learning process.
